How It Works For Pet Owners
Step 1: Explore Our Services
Visit our Home page to learn about the treatments we offer. Still unsure if rehab is right for your pet? Contact us for no-obligation advice to help you understand your options and recommend next steps.
Step 2: Referral Requirements
To ensure the highest standard of care and keep your pet’s veterinary team fully informed, a referral from your regular veterinarian is required for all patients — including those attending for rehabilitation, maintenance, or fitness programs.
This helps us work collaboratively with your vet, ensuring your pet’s treatment plan is safe, effective, and tailored to their individual needs.
Step 3: Check Your Insurance Coverage
Many pet insurance providers include coverage for rehabilitation and laser therapy, at Fur Ability we are covered by most major insurance companies. During your discovery call or initial appointment, we’ll review any recommended treatments so you can confirm coverage with your insurance provider.
Please note: We are recognized by Trupanion, under their Rehabilitation Rider you need to have this to be covered. We’re unable to process direct claims at this time, so reimbursement will need to be submitted by you to your insurance company.
Step 4: Book Your Appointment
Once your veterinarians referral is received, we’ll contact you to schedule your first appointment. Once booked, we will ask you to complete a short intake form in advance of the appointment.
Step 5: Your Initial Consultation
Your first session lasts approximately 90 minutes and includes:
. A full musculoskeletal assessment
. Goal setting based on your pet’s needs
. An introductory treatment to get started
. An in-home treatment plan to accelerate the recovery process
Step 6: Ongoing Support
Follow-up sessions typically last 30–45 minutes. We adjust your pet’s plan as needed and maintain communication with your veterinarian throughout their care.
